Bill Coffin, RIP
The Rev. William Sloane Coffin, Jr., died yesterday. He was one of the great prophetic voices of our time, and he will be sorely missed.
He was for many years the chaplain of Yale University. When I enetered as a freshman in 1974, he warned our class not to be like the loyal alumni who gather at reunions every June to reminisce about how their college years were the best years of their lives. He told us that if the coming four years would eventually be counted as the best ones of our lives, all our years thereafter would have been a failure.
May he rest with the saints, and may light perpetual shine upon him.

May God bless him .
That's a really inspiring sentiment, considering my high school and college years have not lived up to my expectations.
